Chris Cornell “Loved” “Westworld’s” Saloon Cover of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”

ABC/Randy HolmesAs expected, HBO's sci-fi Western series Westworld has featured plenty of cowboys, robots and robotic cowboys. Perhaps more unexpectedly, the show has also included saloon-themed piano covers of famous rock songs, one of which being Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun." Many have praised the Westworld score, which was composed by Ramin Djawadi, including Chris Cornell himself.

"I loved Ramin Djawadi's interpretation of 'Black Hole Sun,'" the Soundgarden vocalist tells Billboard. "It perfectly fits the mood of the scene, and reveals a duality that has always existed in the song."

Other saloon covers have included The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black," Radiohead's "No Surprises" and The Cure's "A Forest," and more will be featured throughout the season.

"It will be interesting to see what else [Djawadi] has in store this season," says Cornell.
