Coheed and Cambria’s Claudio Sanchez Plays Impromptu Street Performance for Kindergartners

Credit: LeAnn MuellerCoheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez was stopped on the street Wednesday morning by, believe it or not, a kindergarten class and their teachers and was asked to perform a song. Presumably not wanting to perform a song like "The Suffering" or Coheed's profane The Color Before the Suns single "You Got Spirit, Kid," Sanchez decided to play the chorus of an unreleased song. You can watch the impromptu street performance now on YouTube.

Sanchez was stopped while walking in his new hometown of Brooklyn, New York. The Color Before the Sun, Coheed and Cambria's forthcoming new album, is in part inspired by Sanchez's new life in Brooklyn with his wife and newborn son. The album is Coheed's first to not continue the story of the Amory Wars, a sci-fi epic that tells the story of the band's namesake characters.

Coheed and Cambria has so far released three songs from The Color Before the Sun: "You Got Spirit, Kid," "Here to Mars," and "Eraser." The album will be released in full October 16.

The band will be touring in support of The Color Before the Sun starting with an intimate show at the Brooklyn metal club Saint Vitus on October 9. The tour will continue October 11 in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
