“Consequence of Sound” Names Governors Ball the “Festival of the Year”

Image Courtesy of Big Hassle MediaThe noted festival aficionados at Consequence of Sound have named the Governors Ball Music Festival as the "Festival of the Year." Held in New York City's Randall's Island, Gov Ball started off as a one-day, 12-act festival in 2011. Now in it's fourth year, the festival has evolved into a three-day festival featuring headlining sets from Jack White, The Strokes and Vampire Weekend.

"[Governors Ball] has cemented itself as not just the best festival the Big Apple has ever seen, but one of the top music events in the country," writes CoS.

The 2014 Gov Ball lineup also included sets from Damon Albarn, Spoon, TV on the Radio and Bastille.

Governors Ball will return to Randall's Island for the 2015 festival on June 5-7. A lineup announcement for the 2015 festival is expected in mid-January.
