Cranberries Frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan Arrested for Alleged In-Flight Assault

Image Courtesy of Cooking Vinyl/DowntownDolores O'Riordan, lead singer for The Cranberries, was arrested at Ireland's Shannon Airport early this morning after allegedly assaulting an Aer Lingus flight attendant, ABC News has confirmed. 

Twenty minutes before her flight from New York's JFK Airport was scheduled to land, O'Riordan allegedly refused to take her seat and stamped on an air hostess’ foot, The Irish Times reports.  Police in were called to meet the aircraft following the alleged assault. During the course of O'Riordan's arrest, she also allegedly head-butted and spat at a policeman. 

O'Riordan, 43, was subsequently taken to hospital.  The flight attendant was also taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries

As lead singer of The Cranberries, O'Riordan is known for hit singles like "Zombie" and "Linger." The band's last album was 2012's Roses.
