Did Coldplay Confirm the Cover for their New Album?

Credit: Phil HarveyLast week, reports began to surface that a mysterious poster seen in London's subway stations was tied to Coldplay's new -- and possibly final -- album, A Head Full of Dreams. The poster features a spiraled, rainbow design and the date December 4, which were taken to be the album's cover and release date, respectively. Now, Coldplay seemingly has confirmed that the poster is from them, but they didn't reveal much more than that.

On Facebook, Coldplay posted a 35-second video featuring the design from the subway poster. The clip is totally silent, and doesn't make any mention of the December 4 date.

Last year, Chris Martin announced that A Head Full of Dreams, which will be Coldplay's seventh album, will be "the completion of something," which hinted that it might be the band's final album. He also compared it to to the last Harry Potter book, but since Harry and his wizard pals are returning in a new play next year, perhaps Coldplay's eighth album actually will be a Broadway musical.

In other A Head Full of Dreams rumblings, fans of Bring Me the Horizon have noticed that Coldplay's potential album cover bears a resemblance to the cover of Sempiternal, the fourth album from Oli Sykes' band. Even Sykes himself sees the similarity.

"@coldplay Jackin our steez hard," Sykes writes on Twitter.
