Roswell Records/RCA RecordsDid you miss Foo Fighters' HBO documentary series, Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, when it aired last year? Have no fear -- the eight-part series will be released on DVD/Blu-ray disc and digitally via iTunes on April 7.
Sonic Highways followed the Foos as they traveled from city to city across America while they recorded their new album, also titled Sonic Highways. Along the way, frontman Dave Grohl would interview musical luminaries in each city. Grohl would then take the notes from his interviews and use them to write the lyrics for the Sonic Highways album.
The DVD/Blu-ray edition of Sonic Highways will feature a bevy of bonus footage, including extended interviews with Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers, Ian Mackaye of Fugazi and Minor Threat, Joan Jett and President Barack Obama.
The Sonic Highways series will be available for pre-order on FooFighters.com and iTunes beginning on March 9.
