Foo Fighters to Record New Album in 2017, According to Festival Producer

ABC/Travis BellThis week, Foo Fighters announced their first official U.S. show of 2017: a headlining spot at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival in Napa, California. According to Dave Graham, CEO of Latitude 38 Entertainment -- the company behind BottleRock Napa Valley -- the festival might also be the only U.S. show for Dave Grohl and company this year, for a very exciting reason.

"The Foo Fighters are in the studio all next year recording a new album and BottleRock may be their only show in 2017 in North America," Graham tells the Napa Valley Register. David Kerns, the writer of the piece, confirms to ABC Radio that the interview was conducted in December, and thus "next year" means 2017.

The last Foo Fighters album was 2014's Sonic Highways, which was accompanied by a multi-part HBO series that documented the making of the record.

Aside from the BottleRock Napa Valley festival, which takes place May 26-28, Foo Fighters will be playing European festivals over the summer. They'll also be making an appearance at the upcoming MusiCares Person of the Year gala in honor of Tom Petty, held February 10 in Los Angeles.
