Former Slipknot Drum Tech Reveals Identities of New Band Members

Image Courtesy Universal Music Group DistributionThough most Slipknot fans have already figured out the identities of the band's new drummer and bassist, we now have an Instagram post to prove it. Former Slipknot drum tech Norm Costa posted a photo of his personal itinerary on his Instagram profile, which lists all the members of the band, including drummer Jay Weinberg and bassist Alessandro Venturella.

Costa, who has worked as a drum tech for Slayer, was hired by Slipknot but was then let go. Given his use of the hashtags #blowitup and #f**kSlipknot, the working relationship appears to not have ended well.

Venturella, a former guitar tech for Mastodon, was more-or-less confirmed as the new Slipknot bassist when fans spotted his distinctive hand tattoos in the "The Devil in I" video.

Weinberg, son of Bruce Springteen's E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg, has also been long-rumored as a new Slipknot member. The younger Weinberg used to be the drummer for Against Me!, but he left on less than amicable terms -- frontwoman Laura Jane Grace tweeted "Dear Slipknot, good luck with that. #s**tbag"

Venturella and Weinberg were brought in to replace Joey Jordison -- who was asked to leave the band last December -- and the late Paul Gray, respectively. The new members played their first show with Slipknot during the band's KnotFest performance in October.
