AstralwerksHaving already jumped into the world of vinyl, Urban Outfitters is now getting into the cassette game, too. The clothing franchise is releasing an exclusive cassette version of Halsey's debut album Badlands, which is available now at UrbanOutfitters.com.
Along with Badlands, Urban Outfitters is also releasing cassette editions of Death Cab for Cutie's Kintsugi and Nate Ruess' debut solo album Grand Romantic. Whether or not any of those artists' fans actually own something they can play the cassettes on is another issue.
Urban Outfitters will be releasing the cassettes in honor of Cassette Store Day, an offshoot of Record Store Day. Cassette Store Day will be held in independent record stores on October 17 and will feature exclusive releases from AWOLNATION, Foals and The Gaslight Anthem, among others.
