Here’s what’s rocking at the 2021 Grammys

The Recording AcademyThe 2021 Grammys take place this Sunday, March 14. Here's a rundown of who's nominated in the rock categories.

For the first time in its history, the Best Rock Performance category is entirely made up of all female-fronted acts. The nominees are HAIM's "The Steps," Phoebe Bridgers' "Kyoto," Fiona Apple's "Shameika," Brittany Howard's "Stay High," Grace Potter's "Daylight" and Big Thief's "Not."

"Kyoto," "Shameika," "Stay High" and "Not" are also up for Best Rock Song, as is Tame Impala's "Lost in Yesterday."

The nominees for Best Metal Performance are In This Moment's "The In-Between," Body Count's "Bum-Rush," Code Orange's "Underneath," Poppy's "Bloodmoney," and a live version of Power Trip's "Executioner's Tax (Swing of the Axe)."

In the Best Alternative Music Album category, you'll find Apple's Fetch the Bold Cutters, Tame Impala's The Slow Rush, Howard's Jaime, Bridgers' Punisher and Beck's Hyperspace.

The Best Rock Album nominees are The Strokes' The New Abnormal, Potter's Daylight, Sturgill Simpson's Sound & Fury, Michael Kiwanuka's Kiwanuka and Fontaines D.C.'s A Hero's Death.

In the so-called "big four" categories, Coldplay's Everyday Life and HAIM's Women in Music Pt. III will compete for Album of the Year, Billie Eilish's "everything i wanted" is up for Song and Record of the Year, and Bridgers is nominated for Best New Artist.

Other rock nominees include Beastie Boys' Beastie Boys Story for Best Music Film, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea's Acid for the Children audiobook for Best Spoken Word Album, and Eilish's James Bond theme "No Time to Die" for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Performers include Eilish, HAIM, Howard and Coldplay's Chris Martin.
