Being that Jack White is currently taking a break from touring, it appears that the former White Stripes frontman has turned to directing in his spare time. White has directed a short film about photographer and designer David James Swanson, called David Swanson: A Life, a Dream, a Pocket on a Shirt. You can watch the five-minute movie, now on YouTube.
A Life, a Dream, a Pocket on a Shirt is a humorous look at Swanson's quest to bring his signature pocket t-shirt to White's label, Third Man Records. Along with the film, Third Man Records is releasing the David James Swanson Pocket T online and at their Nashville headquarters on September 12.
In addition, Swanson's photography will be on display at an exhibit showcasing his work with Polaroid film. The exhibit, which will also feature photographs taken by artist Patrick Pantano, who shot the cover photos for The White Stripes albums Elephant and White Blood Cells, and TMR photographer Angelina Castillo, will be on display in the Third Man Records' Nashville headquarters September 10-16.
While he isn't touring at the moment, White is still releasing music. His band The Dead Weather will release their third album, Dodge and Burn, on September 25.
