Jack White, modern ambassador of vinyl records and vintage technology, is launching a new product that's on the total opposite side of the tech spectrum. White has announced Jack White: Third-D, a virtual reality app in partnership with Jaunt. Fans with a Google Cardboard viewer and a five or six inch Android phone can watch a 3-D version of White's recent show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and feel like they are really "there."
The Jack White: Third-D app can be downloaded for free on the Google Play store.
For fans who don't have a Google Cardboard viewer and also live in Nashville, the Third Man Records store will be giving away a special edition viewer to the first 75 Android users that purchase the "Ultra LP" version of Lazaretto, White's latest -- and Grammy nominated -- solo album.
If you'd like to actually be "there" for a Jack White concert, the former White Stripes frontman will be playing Austin, Nashville and New York City in January. All tour information is posted on White's website.
