Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon will be launching a book tour in support of her forthcoming memoir, Girl in a Band. The tour will begin February 23 in Brooklyn, New York and wrap up March 7 in Los Angeles.
In addition to discussing her book, Gordon will be joined by a variety of guests on her tour, including Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein, Mountain Goats drummer Jon Wurster and Sub Pop co-founder Bruce Pavitt. Brownstein, incidentally, recently revealed that she is releasing her own memoir this fall.
Girl in a Band is said to contain an "examination of what partnership means -- and what happens when it dissolves," which most likely refers to Gordon's split with her Sonic Youth band mate, Thurston Moore. The book will hit shelves February 24.
