Novoselic and McKagan have known each other for quite a while, and they've both written for Seattle Weekly. Both bassists grew up in Seattle, which is of course where Novoselic met Kurt Cobain and formed Nirvana.
How to Be a Man is McKagan's second book, following his 2011 memoir, It's So Easy (and Other Lies). His sophomore effort will dole out life lessons, including a list of every album that every man should listen to, from Abba's Gold to ZZ Top's Tres Hombres. McKagan also teams up frontman -- and fellow Washington State native -- Ben Gibbard to discuss the problematic math question presented by Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer": Is it possible to see a million faces and rock them all?
How to Be a Man will be released on May 12.
