Kurt Cobain’s 1988 Mixtape “Montage of Heck” Unearthed

Image Courtesy of Universal Music Group - Anton CorbijnA 30-minute mixtape created by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has been unearthed by Dangerous Minds. The mixtape, dubbed "Montage of Heck," includes recordings of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and William Shatner's version of The Troggs' "Wild Thing," as well as clips from Jimi Hendrix speaking at the Monterey Pop Festival.

"Montage of Heck" was recorded by the then 21-year-old Cobain in 1988 using a four-track cassette recorder. Nirvana's debut album, Bleach, was released one year later in 1989.
