Metallica Hints at New Music on Instagram

Image Courtesy of BB Gun PressLast month, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo told Rock Cellar Magazine that the band was in the process of "blueprinting" their next album. From the looks of Metallica's most recent Instagram post, the blueprints are complete and the album's construction has begun.

Metallica posted a photo on their Instagram page indicating that they've returned to the studio to record their new album. The photo features Trujillo playing in front of a mixing board in a recording studio while the unseen photographer throws up the devil-horn salute.

"Rockin along..." reads the caption.

The new album, which will be the band's tenth, will be Metallica's first full length record since 2008's Death Magnetic -- not counting 2011's Lulu, Metallica's bizarre collaboration with the late Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed. Death Magnetic debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and featured the Grammy-winning single, "My Apocalypse."
