Modest Mouse Releases New Track, “Coyotes,” & Coyete-Filled Video

Image Courtesy of Epic RecordsModest Mouse has given fans another preview of their forthcoming album, Strangers to Ourselves, with "Coyotes" -- a new track from the record. "Coyotes" is more docile than the first single from Strangers -- the much more frantic "Lampshades on Fire" -- but it's still unmistakeably Modest Mouse.

The single is also accompanied by a video, which prominently features a coyote, naturally. This coyote isn't chasing roadrunners, however -- instead, the adorable animal boards a train and takes a lonely ride around Portland, which is something that one coyote actually did back in 2008. The "coyote on a train" incident also inspired the Sleater-Kinney song, "Light Rail Coyote." Cue the "awws" here.

You can watch the "Coyotes" video via the Modest Mouse fan-site Interstate-8.

Strangers to Ourselves, Modest Mouse's first album since 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, will be released on March 3.
