“Montage of Heck” DVD/Blu-ray and Album Get Official Release Date

The End of Music, LLC/Courtesy of HBOThe Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck DVD/Blu-ray and the film's soundtrack, featuring Kurt Cobain's unreleased personal demos, now have an official release date. Both Montage of Heck and its soundtrack, which is titled Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings, will be released  November 13.

The official release date for both the Montage of Heck DVD/Blu-ray and The Home Recordings is a week later than the November 6 release date that director Brett Morgen originally announced.

The Home Recordings will be released as a 13-track CD and a 31-track deluxe two-LP vinyl set, the latter of which will be released December 4. The Montage of Heck film will also be released as a "super deluxe edition," which will include 48 minutes of bonus interviews, a 160-page book of interviews and rare photos, and the 31-track deluxe on album on CD. The 31-track version of The Home Recordings on CD will only be available with the "super deluxe edition" of Montage of Heck.

Additionally, the seven-inch vinyl single featuring Cobain's version of The Beatles song "And I Love Her," plus an "early demo" of the Nirvana rarity "Sappy," will be released November 20.

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, which premiered on HBO, is the first fully authorized documentary on Cobain. The film earned seven nominations at this year's Emmy Awards.
