Muse, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons Among “Forbes'” Highest Paid Musicians of 2016

Credit: Danny ClinchForbes has unveiled its annual list of the 30 highest paid musicians, and the 2016 tally includes Muse, Foo Fighters and Mumford & Sons.

Muse arrives at number 20 on the list with a total of $49 million earned in 2016, thanks to their massive world tour in support of their album Drones. The Foos come in right behind Muse at number 21 with $48.5 million, while Mumford & Sons sneak onto the list at number 28 with a cool $40 million -- that oughta buy them a whole lot of banjos.

The highest-paid rock act on Forbes' 2016 ranking is AC/DC, who came in at number seven. The classic rock legends' Rock or Bust world tour, which received an assist from guest vocalist Axl Rose, helped bring in $67.5 million for the year.

Other rockers to make the 2016 list include The Rolling Stones at number eight with $66.5 million, Bruce Springsteen at number 11 with $60.5 million, Paul McCartney at number 12 with $56.5 million, and U2 at number 15 with $55 million. Of course, none of them held a candle to the number-one earner of 2016: pop star Taylor Swift, who brought in a whopping $170 million.
