"Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words," he writes.
People confirmed that Hudson and the Muse frontman ended their engagement on Monday. The couple became engaged in 2011. They have a three-year-old son together, Bingham Hawn Bellamy.
If it's any consolation to Bellamy, Forbes did recently name Muse as one of 2014's highest-paid musicians.
Bellamy's tweet not only addressed his split with Hudson, it also mentioned Muse's next project.
"Now about that new album..." he writes, echoing the band's cryptic Instagram posts, which indicate Muse is working on a new record. While the album does not have a release date or publicly known title, Muse did reveal they will be working with AC/DC and Def Leppard producer "Mutt" Lange.
