Report: Scott Stapp Threatened to Assassinate President Obama, According to 911 Call

Image Courtesy of Wind-up RecordsScott Stapp believes he's a part of the CIA and that he was tasked with assassinating President Obama.  At least, that's according to a recording of a 911 call obtained by TMZ.

Stapp's wife, Jaclyn, and his sister-in-law reportedly made the call, telling the dispatcher that the Creed frontman has gone missing from a mental facility after fleeing shirtless on a bicycle late last month.

"He thinks he's part of the CIA, he thinks they're trying to kill him, and he has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that he's a CIA agent and he was supposed to assassinate Obama," Stapp's sister-in-law says on the call. They ask the dispatcher for help in returning Stapp to the facility.

This call is the latest entry in Stapp's sad saga, which began in November when he posted a video on Creed's Facebook page in which he said he's broke and homeless. He followed up with two more videos in which he further elaborated upon how his money was stolen from him. The videos have since been removed.

Then on November 28, TMZ reported that Stapp was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after the Madison County Sheriff's Department in Florida found him on the side of a road November 13. The report states Stapp appeared incoherent and claimed that someone was trying to poison him.

Following the release of the videos, Stapp launched a crowd-funding campaign to fund his new solo album, as well as his first novel. The campaign page, as well as the Facebook post on Creed's page advertising the page, have since been removed.
