Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts guitarist Jeremy Brown passed away on Monday -- just one day before the band's album Blaster was scheduled to be released. In honor of his late band mate, Scott Weiland has issued a statement dedicating the album to Brown.
"I'd like to dedicate today's release of our album, Blaster, to my friend and collaborator Jeremy Brown," Weiland says. "It breaks my heart that you are not here to receive the recognition you so deserve and worked so hard for."
The Wildabouts were scheduled to perform a record release show in Los Angeles on Monday, but Brown did not show up for rehearsals. The band then received a phone call informing them that Brown had passed away.
Along with Blaster, Weiland and the Wildabouts also released a cover of David Bowie's "The Jean Genie" as a single on Tuesday, which is available now in iTunes.
