Soundgarden’s Rhythm Section Joins New Band, Ten Commandos; Premiering Debut Single Friday

Credit: Danny ClinchMatt Cameron is already pulling double grunge duty as the drummer of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, and now he's joined up with another band. Cameron and Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd are members of Ten Commandos, a new band also featuring Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures collaborator Alain Johannes and Dimitri Coats of the punk band Off!

According to Johannes' Instagram, Ten Commandos will release their debut single, called "Staring Down the Dust," on Friday, October 9. The single will feature ex-Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan on lead vocals.

Ten Commandos' first album will be released in November via Pearl Jam's Monkeywrench Records.

Meanwhile, Cameron will join Pearl Jam's South American tour in November, and he and Shepherd and the rest of Soundgarden also have begun work on the follow-up to their 2012 comeback album, King Animal.
