The Edge Likes Cage the Elephant, Doesn’t Get Appeal of Neutral Milk Hotel

Image Courtesy of Shahar AzranIt's a beautiful day for any band when The Edge sings your praises. This time, the lucky group is Cage the Elephant.

The U2 guitarist attended Coachella earlier this year, and he counts the Kentucky quartet's performance there as one of his favorite sets from the festival.

"The band that I liked at Coachella was Cage the Elephant. Their commitment to the performance really blew so much of the other stuff away," he tells Rolling Stone. "They really did own it in a way that few other artists did."

The Edge also lists Pixies, Broken Bells, rap duo Outkast and dubstep master Skrillex as acts he enjoyed at the festival. One band that he didn't really get, though, was cult indie band Neutral Milk Hotel.

"Neutral Milk Hotel, you know them? If you were sort of one of the faithful, you could sort of get excited about it. It didn't really have a universal appeal at all. And that might be its appeal," he says.

For his part, Bono added that he likes the band Future Islands.

"That song, 'Seasons'? A miracle, that is," he says.
