Watch (Non-Squeamish) Footage of Chester Bennington’s Ankle-Breaking Incident

Credit: James MinchinLinkin Park was forced to cancel most of their North American tour in support of their latest album, The Hunting Party, earlier this year due to an injury suffered by frontman Chester Bennington. In the latest episode of the band's LPTV YouTube series, it's revealed that Bennington hurt himself while playing pickup basketball at a gym in Indianapolis. In-between breaking ankles with his crossover, Bennington literally broke his ankle when he went for a layup and landed on a bottle of water laying on the court.

If you're squeamish, don't worry -- the actual ankle breaking isn't shown, but you can hear Bennington hit the court off-screen. His band mates then come over to help him, and you can see Bennington clearly in pain.

For his part, Bennington remains pretty upbeat throughout the ordeal. He jokes with fans about the injury at a meet-and-greet, and even performs at the band's Indianapolis show while using a modified scooter. Unfortunately, the injury required immediate medical attention, and the rest of the tour was canceled.

Linkin Park will hit the road again in May for a few festival performances, including Rock in Rio USA, Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma. Bennington will also be touring with Stone Temple Pilots beginning in April.
