Smoke + Mirrors is Imagine Dragons' first number-one album -- Night Visions bowed at number two. Even more impressively, Smoke + Mirrors tallied 172,000 pure album sales in its first week. That figure more than doubles the 83,000 sales that Night Visions registered in its first week.
If the success of Night Visions is any reflection on what's to come for Smoke + Mirrors, then Imagine Dragons' new album will be a fixture on the Billboard 200 for quite some time. Night Visions has sold 2.5 million copies to date, and has never left the Billboard 200 in the 129 weeks since its release.
Imagine Dragons will embark on a 39-city tour in support of Smoke + Mirrors beginning in June.
