Metallica, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots Sing “Enter Sandman” with Classroom Instruments

Andrew Lipovsky/NBCMetallica joined host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots in the Tonight Show Music Room for a performance of "Enter Sandman" with classroom instruments.

In the recurring segment, Fallon and his house band The Roots back music artists for a version of one of their popular songs using instruments you would find in a classroom, like tambourines, xylophones, hand clappers and kazoos.

Metallica's segment, which aired on Wednesday's Tonight Show, was recorded after their appearance on the show back in September.

Other artists that have joined Fallon for classroom versions of their songs include Ariana Grande, One Direction, Mariah Carey and Madonna.

Metallica's 10th album, Hardwired...to Self Destruct, will be released Friday.
