New Radiohead Album Is “Coming Along Nicely” Says Drummer

Credit: Sebastian EdgeLast November, Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood confirmed that the band had entered the studio to record a new album. Now, drummer Philip Selway has given an update on the progress of that album, saying that it is "coming along nicely."

"We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas, and now we're just taking some time away for other projects," Selway tells U.K. publication Drowned in Sound. "We'll get back to it in March and we’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we've been excited about what we've been doing so far."

"It's by no means finished yet, so we've got a way to go," he continues. "It's been a productive time though."

Selway was reluctant to give a timetable for the album's release, however.

"I wouldn't want to start to predict that kind of thing in a Radiohead schedule because you can find yourself six months down the line saying 'I wish I hadn't have said that actually!'" he says.

The new Radiohead album, whenever it comes out, will be the followup to 2011's Grammy-nominated The King of Limbs.
