Chelsea Lauren/WireImageSum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley and his fiancée Ariana Cooper tied the knot in Los Angeles on Sunday, a year after nearly losing his life to alcohol abuse.
The couple exchanged vows at the Hotel Bel Air in "a chill and intimate ceremony," an insider tells People magazine. "They had a violin play at the ceremony and the music was mellow, not typical rock that Deryck's band plays, which was surprising."
In April 2014, the 35-year-old rocker collapsed in his kitchen with a drink in his hand and was rushed by Cooper to the hospital, where doctors determined his organs had failed from serious alcohol abuse.
Cooper and Whibley, now sober and healthy, reportedly toasted their marriage with a glass of apple cider.
Whibley was previously married to Avril Lavigne. They divorced in 2009 after three years of marriage.
