Temple of the Dog Has Rare Reunion at Bridge School Benefit Concert

A&M RecordsSeattle grunge band Temple of the Dog reunited at the Bridge School Benefit concert in Mountain View, California, Saturday night, Rolling Stone reports. Fans first became hopeful of a rare reunion when it was revealed both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden were scheduled to perform during Neil Young’s annual benefit concert series.

For Pearl Jam’s final song of the night, Chris Cornell joined the band on stage for a performance of Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike.” It marked the first time the grunge group had reunited since a September 2011 show to celebrate the release of the film Pearl Jam Twenty.

Temple of the Dog was a veritable mash-up of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam members. It consisted of Cornell, Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron, bassist Jeff Ament, guitarists Mike McCready and Stone Gossard and, occasionally, Eddie Vedder. The band was active from 1990 to 1992.
