The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney Dislocates Shoulder While Vacationing in St. Barth

Patrick Carney, left; Live Nation EntertainmentThe Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney dislocated his shoulder this past weekend.  The 34-year-old posted a photo on Instagram of him in a hospital Sunday with the caption, "Tune into my new Lifetime movie. 'Dislocated shoulder' airing right now." He posted a second photo of the injured arm, resting on a hospital bed.

According to TMZ, Carney was vacationing on the Caribbean island of St. Barth and suffered the injury when a huge wave crashed into him and slammed the drummer to the ocean floor.

TMZ says Carney is out of the hospital and recovering.

The Black Keys, which consists of Carney and fellow Akron, Ohio, native, guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach, are next scheduled to perform February 6 at the 2015 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Bob Dylan, according to Grammy.org. It's unclear whether Carney's injury will prevent the duo from performing at the event.

The Black Keys are scheduled to begin a month-long European tour, February 16, followed by concert dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, according to duo's official website.
