The Edge Falls Off the Edge During U2 Vancouver Tour Opener

Paolo PellegrinIt's not nearly as serious a fall as Bono's bicycling accident last November, but U2 guitarist The Edge took a tumble of his own Thursday night -- right off the stage during the kick-off of the band's iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour in Vancouver, BC.

A photo posted on U2's Instagram shows The Edge, 53, raising his right arm, which appears to bear a serious scrape running the length of his forearm.  "Didn't see the edge, I'm OK!!" he writes in the caption.

Fan-recorded video shows The Edge strolling slowly along a walkway, strumming his guitar while the band plays the 1987 Joshua Tree classic "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."  The guitarist keeps nearing the walkway's edge, oblivious to his proximity, until he casually steps off and falls about four feet to the arena floor.  Fortunately, he appears to land on his feet, at least initially.

U2's next tour stop is Monday in San Jose, CA.
